According to the data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Vietnam's seafood exports have witnessed a dip in value in the first quarter of 2023. The total value of seafood exported from Vietnam is estimated to be around 30 dollars, a decrease of 10% compared to the same period last year.

The report states that the majority of the seafood exported to various markets is frozen seafood, including shrimp, catfish, and tuna. The highest quantity of seafood exported is shrimp, which accounts for about 40% of the total exports, followed by catfish and tuna.

Vietnam's seafood is currently being exported to several countries, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, and the European Union. The United States and Japan are the two largest importers of Vietnamese seafood, accounting for over 50% of the total exports.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the global seafood market has been affected by several factors such as climate change, the ongoing pandemic, and geopolitical tensions, which can have a profound impact on the seafood industry's growth.

In recent news, it was reported that Minhdang Seafood Corporation and HaiTri are among the top 30 largest seafood exporters in Vietnam, with an total export value of 16 million dollars calculated from $10.229 million of MinhDang Co., Ltd and $6.066 millions of Hai Tri. This indicates that despite the recent dip in exports, the seafood industry is still performing well and generating significant revenue for the country.

In response to the recent decline in the export value of seafood, the Vietnamese authorities have undertaken several initiatives to boost the sector's performance. Some of the steps include promoting the sustainable management of fishery resources and adopting advanced modern technologies for the better processing and preservation of seafood products.

In conclusion, while the drop in seafood export value in the first quarter of 2023 is concerning, the Vietnamese seafood industry remains vibrant and is expected to continue performing well in the coming quarters.
